Baqi Project Model

The Imam Hassan Center for Specialized Studies, based in the city of Najaf, Iraq is a sister organization of the Imam Hussain Shrine, in the city of Karbala, also known as العتبة الحسينية المقدسة in Arabic.  Their main objective is propagation and research on the life of Hasan al-Mujtaba, the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib.  In 2019, the Imam Hasan Center requested a scale model of The Baqi Project as well as showing Masjid an-Nabawi (The Prophet’s Mosque) to be displayed in their office and inaugurated on the birth anniversary of Hassan al-Mujtaba during the month of Ramadhan.  The model was designed and fabricated in Long Island, NY, and then flown to the city of Najaf, Iraq, and assembled there.  Measuring at 5 ft by 10 ft, the model is made of mostly basswood, plywood, and 3D-printed resin.
